Important Dates for Residents
- January 1st - Office closed in observance of New Year's Day
- January 1st - Rent, Retro Rent, and Repayments Due
- January 5th - Last Day to put Rent in Drop Box before 4:30 PM
- January 6th - Rent plus $25.00 Late Fee
- January 6th - Late Notices Delivered
- January 12th - Evictions Filed for December (Rent plus $25.00 Late Charge and $50.00 Court Cost)

Do not call Emergency Maintenance unless it is a true emergency.
Maintenance will not be dispatched in the middle of the night.
- We do not come out at night or on weekends to change or replace light bulbs.
- The charge for opening a door after hours is $50.00.
- If you have an emergency, please call and leave your name, address, phone number, and details about your emergency.
- For all other maintenance concerns, please call the office and leave a message and we will take care of it during the normal work week.
Appointments
- Please make an appointment prior to coming to the office or go to our website (DarlingtonHA.org) to ensure your concerns are addressed in the most efficient manner.
- Or you may call or email your Housing Manager, Ms. Elaine Bell-Ansong in reference to a change in your current situation or problem. She can be reached at 843.393.0436 extension 2004, ebell@darlingtonha.org.
- If you have a maintenance situation, please contact the Maintenance Director, Mrs. Karen Beedy. She can be reached by telephone at 843.393.0436 (or the emergency line 843.496.8519), Kbeedy@darlingtonha.org. Making an appointment allows staff to be prepared to service you quickly and efficiently.
Trash Pick Up
Leaving your roll out trash cart at the pickup point is a VIOLATION of the City of Darlington Ordinance (70-1-Collection Garbage Waste). Please do not put trash beside or behind your trash container. The workers are not going to pick it up. It will be left to scatter, and you may be fined for littering. Please place your trash cart behind your unit as soon as possible after trash has been collected.
Entry to your unit
Please do not use Door Barricade Reinforcement on your doors at any time. Housing Authority staff/maintenance and Emergency Medical personnel must have access to your unit.
10 PM Curfew is Still in Effect!!
Due to complaints about loiters, noise, and children being left unattended, a curfew was initiated on July 1, 2012. If you or your invited guests are caught loitering in the parking lot or on the property, you will be arrested and/or evicted. If you have questions, please feel free to call the office 843.393.0436.
Holiday Office Hours
- Christmas Holidays: Our office will be closed from Wednesday, December 23, 2025, through Monday, December 29, 2025.
- New Years: Our office will be closed Thursday, January 1, 2026. Normal Operation will resume on Monday, January 5, 2026.
- Emergency Contacts: During the closure, our maintenance and emergency contacts will be available for any critical issues at 843.496.8519.
