The mission of the Housing Authority of Darlington (HAD) is to assist low-income families with decent, safe and affordable housing opportunities free from discrimination as they strive to achieve self-sufficiency and improve the quality of their lives.
HAD is committed to operating in an efficient, ethical, and professional manner. The Housing Authority will create and maintain partnerships with its clients and appropriate community agencies in order to accomplish this mission.
The Housing Authority of Darlington administers both low-income public housing and Section 8 housing voucher programs in the City of Darlington. Some apartment properties provide senior housing, and most rental properties offer some form of rental assistance to make rent more affordable for very low-income families.
